7x Charming Campsites & Camper Spots in Italy
We love Italy, but there’s one small downside when traveling through this country with a camper. Charming campsites and camper spots are scarce. It can be quite a challenge to find a nice place. We prefer staying at quieter, charming camper spots. Today, we’re sharing our favorite camper spots in Italy.
THE COLONO in Volterra
THE COLONO is absolutely our number one camping spot in Italy. The camping is run by an elderly Italian couple and has only a few camper spots nestled among the olive trees. The location is truly beautiful, and the people are incredibly kind. During the low season, we only paid 15 euros per night. It’s also the perfect place to explore Volterra.

Villaggio La Torre in Termoli
The reason we stayed almost a week on the coast of Termoli is because of camper spot Villaggio La Torre. The camper spot is quite simple, with only outdoor showers and basic facilities. However, it’s the location that makes this place so special. We’ve never been so close to the beach before. We absolutely enjoyed our time here.

Camper Parking Area New Horizons in Gallipoli
Camper Parking Area New Horizons is a small family camping spot in the midst of nature. If you’re looking for peace and nature, this is the place to be. The camping spot is small and cozy, and the beach is only a few minutes away. Besides a few playing kittens, there wasn’t much happening at the camping spot, which we appreciated. After a few days, we wanted a bit more action and decided to move to Agricampeggio & Glamping Torre Sabea. Another great recommendation!

Area sosta camper Grinto in Turin
Camper spots in cities are often not very impressive. That’s why we were amazed by Area sosta camper Grinto. This camper spot is truly luxurious. The spots are spacious and relatively green. There’s also a nice restaurant and video surveillance. With a bike, you can reach the city center in about 20 minutes. It’s a great recommendation if you want to explore Turin with a camper.
Agricampeggio La Valle in Lucca
We also found a great camper spot near the city of Lucca, namely Agricampeggio La Valle. The camper spot itself is not particularly beautiful, but the hospitality and helpfulness of the owner, Luca, make up for it. The small campsite is located on the edge of a forest and offers views of the Tuscan hills. We could reach the city center within half an hour by bike. You can also take the train or bus to Lucca or Pisa.

Camping Laghi di Lamar in Trentino
We found Camping Laghi di Lamar to be a delightful place. The campsite itself is quite simple but surrounded by mountains and forests. We went on a new hike every day. Pure enjoyment!

Camping Montigg in Bolzano
Many campsites in South Tyrol are extremely expensive. That’s why we were thrilled with the camper spot at Camping Montigg. For 25 euros per night, you can enjoy a great stay. While it may not be the most charming or green campsite, it offers fantastic amenities. Everything is new, the sanitary facilities are excellent, and there’s a swimming pool and a lovely restaurant. You can also take a bus from the campsite to Bolzano.
