Real Alcázar – Royal Palace of Seville

Real Alcazar is the Royal Palace of Seville and is renowned for its stunning gardens. For many people around the world, Real Alcazar is also known as The kingdom of Dorne. This is because it served as an important filming location for Game of Thrones, attracting numerous GOT fans every year. But even if you’re not a Game of Thrones fan, a visit to Real Alcazar is definitely worth it.
Alcazar means “castle” in Spanish and is derived from the Arabic word “al-qasr.” The architectural style is a mix of Moorish and Christian cultures.

Seville Cathedral & the Giralda Tower

The Seville Cathedral is a must-visit during your city trip. It is the largest Gothic building in the world and one of the largest churches in Europe. It is an imposing structure that you cannot miss. It is one of the most important attractions in Seville. Once, there was a mosque in this location, but it was conquered in 1248 and converted into a cathedral. Eventually, the mosque was demolished, and the construction of the cathedral began. The cathedral has a staggering 80 different chapels and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Plaza de España

You can find this square in the María Luisa Park and it was designed by the renowned architect Aníbal González from Seville as an emblematic space for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It has a total area of 50,000 square meters, undoubtedly one of the most impressive squares in Spain. There is a canal running around the square, measuring just over 500 meters, where you can take a boat ride.
We visited the square at sunset and took a seat on one of the steps where a beautiful Flamenco Show was performed. It was a magnificent moment.

Maria Luisa Park

Maria Luisa Park is the most famous park in Seville. It is the perfect place to escape the chaos and bustle of the city. Enjoy a picnic, take a stroll, or explore the park on an electric scooter. The park was once part of the San Telmo Palace but was donated by Infanta Maria Luisa Fernanda de Borbón in 1893. The land was transformed into a romantic park located in the heart of Seville.

Metropol Parasol

The Metropol Parasol, also known as “Las Setas de Sevilla” (Seville’s Mushrooms), is a building that was opened in 2011. It was designed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer to revitalize the square. And it succeeded! It has become a prominent landmark in the city. It is the largest wooden structure in the world, measuring 150 x 70 meters and standing 26 meters tall.

6. Book a Food Tour!
