Camping in nature at Hondarribia – Free
A place where, in addition to a spectacular view, you won’t find much more than a few stray sheep. Definitely a must to start your trip in Northern Spain. The route to this place is truly beautiful and the place itself even more beautiful.
Camping on the rugged coastline: Faro Cabo Busto – Free
At Faro Cabo Busto, you’re next to a lighthouse with a breathtaking view of the sea. Just check out the photo below. You would want that.
Camping on a cliff in San Vicente – 10 euros
Unfortunately, there are some rumors that you can no longer stand at this place to spend the night in San Vicente, but I still want to mention this option, because this is one of the most beautiful places where we have ever stood. The view is beautiful, the owner incredibly friendly, there is an outdoor shower and toilet and you walk straight to the beach.
Motorhome site Bilbao – 15 euros per night
It’s sometimes difficult to visit a busy city with the motorhome, so we were super happy with the motorhome site in Bilbao. There are not really any facilities, but you have a great view of the city. In addition, a bus stops in front of the motorhome site that takes you to the city for only 1.30 euros. So ideal.
Camping Itxaspe – 30 euros per night
Yes, not very cheap indeed, but extremely beautiful. This campsite is on a hill with one of the most beautiful views in Northern Spain. You can hike beautifully in the area, the campsite is incredibly clean and there is even a café and a swimming pool.
Santander Camper Site – FREE
Although this is nothing more than a simple parking lot, we found this overnight stay very pleasant. After all, it’s not often that you can stay for FREE in the middle of the city. From this camper site, we took a bike to the city center. BIG MISTAKE. Santander is so hilly that they even installed escalators in the city center. So, it’s better to take an Uber or a bus ;p.
Camper Site Posada de Valdeón – 10 euros per night
If you want to visit Picos de Europa, you can stay in the heart of the national park in the village of Posada de Valdeón. You can start hiking into the mountains right from this spot. A great tip indeed! Payment can be made digitally or in cash.

A super charming campground within walking distance of the town Potes. The campsite has beautiful green spots and even a small swimming pool to cool off.
