You had me at Terra! Just look! The terra-colored exterior of these cozy cottages in Ericeira alone makes your heart beat faster. It has everything I love! Surrounded by nature, walking distance to the beach, and close to the city! And not just any city, but one of our favorite cities in Portugal, the lovely surf town of Ericeira.
A few days were spent at the charming Terra Lodge, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Not only the location and surroundings but also the excellent accommodation because everything has been thought of. If you want to explore Ericeira but also enjoy the ultimate vacation feeling, then this is the place to be!
Falling in Love with VINTAGE!
Give me a cozy vintage old house with authentic details, and I am intensely happy! I prefer a bit of quaintness to excessive luxury. A place where I feel at home! And that’s how Terra Lodge feels, like a warm bath, like coming home! And that is intense enjoyment while road tripping and being away a lot.
From Old Barn to Unique Accommodation
Upon entering Terra Lodge, you’ll immediately find, on your right side, the building that was once an old barn. Now, you’ll discover four cottages where you can enjoy a delightful stay. The cottage features a loft style with an open bedroom on the first floor. On the ground floor, there’s a spacious seating area that can be transformed into an extra spacious and super comfy sleeping space if needed. Additionally, there’s a dining area and a small kitchenette. Cooking isn’t available in the house itself, as they have a fantastic communal kitchen for that purpose – more on that soon. The bathroom is semi-open and shaped like a rip-curl/wave. You’ll find many authentic details from the old barn inside the house, and the interior is delightful.

Baking in the Vintage Kitchen or Lounging by the Pool
In the morning, your breakfast awaits you on the terrace overlooking the Portuguese landscape. The terrace is adjacent to the fantastic kitchen of Terra Lodge, which guests are welcome to use. Prepare an elaborate dinner, enjoy a drink at the bar, or work at the kitchen table. At Terra Lodge, there’s one rule: MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME! Love it! Well, what more can I say about the kitchen other than I wish I could have the exact same one myself—it’s just that it doesn’t fit in the bus, but otherwise…
Besides the kitchen, at Terra Lodge, you can also enjoy the spacious garden, numerous sitting areas, hammocks, relaxation spaces, and the pool. That’s what makes this place so wonderful because after a day of surfing or a night out in Ericeira, it’s a delightful spot to unwind and recharge. After all, it’s vacation, dear people.
Massage, Surfing, or a Yoga Class
If after a day of relaxing by the pool or chilling in the hammock, you still haven’t reached 100% relaxation, you can attend a yoga class or even book a massage. If you’re in the mood for more activity, you can also book a surfing lesson. Ericeira is a surfing paradise! So, if you visit this surf town, it’s almost a must to have at least one surfboard experience.
A Pet-Friendly Stay in Ericeira!
It’s almost unimaginable, but our old pet is not welcome in many places in Portugal, no matter how cute she looks. At Terra Lodge, however, she was not just welcome but received with open arms. That made us extra happy. She could roam around here and soak up some well-deserved sunshine by the pool.

Our Verdict!
We don’t often book just a night, but we found it hard to say goodbye to this place. That says a lot, actually. Amadeu has managed to create a perfect sense of home in his project. Everything is right! The surroundings, the accommodation, and the atmosphere. With Ericeira just around the corner and the beach within walking distance, this is a place where you can spend a long time. If you’re looking for a great accommodation in Ericeira, this is absolutely recommended. For an overnight stay, you’ll pay approximately 90 euros per night for 2 people, including breakfast.
